An Election Protest Rap – Pat App – “Anarchy” – This is Hip Hop

Pat App

*Quickly* If you are unfamiliar with Pat App, the 21 year old MC hailing from Indiana has recently been dubbed one of “10 Buzzing Artists From The Midwest” by DJ Booth, received co-signs from The Fader, and has the stamp of approval of taste makers ranging from Mass Appeal to Lily Mercer. However, this release is less about Pat App as an artist, and more about how he is using his platform to shed light on a situation of darkness and confusion.

“Anarchy”

“Anarchy” pays homage to Krs-One’s 1997 hit “A Friend.” Production is provided by Esta who revamped the original sample with his own touch of gritty, hard-hitting instrumentation. Combined with Pat App’s “in-your-face” delivery and thought-provoking message, the track has the potential to be a protest song for the ages.
