Global Grind

106 & Park Live

It’s been almost two months since viral rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested during an NYPD raid of Quad Studios, and although he’s keeping his spirits high, the journey hasn’t been an easy one.

With multiple counts of conspiracy, criminal endangerment, weapons use, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia looming over his head, the “Hot Boy” rapper could potentially face up to 25 years in prison.

Luckily, Billboard was able to speak with Bobby for what is said to be his first interview since being sent to New York’s notorious Rikers Island.

How is it in there?

It’s survival, survival. Survival of the fittest.

Has it been hard on you?

Not that hard. I get a lot of love in here.

People in there know who you are and know “Hot Boy”?

Yeah, everybody. Every time I walk the halls, I see people and they yell out “Ah Ah!” or something.
