In 2013, when Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z decided to make a lifestyle change, they accepted exercise physiologist, Marco Borges’ “22 Days Vegan Challenge” and Beyonce has been quite public about her pleasure with the new way of eating.

Via a press release, Beyonce exhorted, “I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example.  He is the most energetic person I know and it’s all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle.  He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices.  All you have to do is try.  If I can do it, anyone can.  I am excited to partner with him.”

What Beyonce was referring to was the introduction and sustaining of a Vegan diet.  Vegan food choices include all plant-based foods such as vegetables, grains and legumes.  Borges contends that after 22 days of eating like this, poor eating habits can be broken and healthier eating choices will be more readily identifiable.
